Madonna as the halftime performer at the Super Bowl 2012.
Did you enjoy the show? Was it as great as it was announced to be?
We had everything from a massive chariot to warriors and lots of “M’s” embroidered on every single costume.
It was all money can buy; a well planned package crammed with the biggest hits, the best dancers and a scheduled list of moves to make.
The show was intended to be a success for the entertainer and an epic advertisement for her upcoming CD “MDNA”. And so it was, or at least this is what was made to believe.
But there was a time when she was really hungry for success, and her style and controversy attracted large audiences. At the centre of it there was Madonna, the icon of reinvention, and it worked perfectly well until she realized she was it.
“The artist is the mere vehicle of their art and it can’t be otherwise”.
She was the defiant, unpredictable, and the risk taker we all admired for; she had the crown without wearing it. She possessed and kept it inside!
Art has to live where it is cultivated and nourished, where it is felt and absorbed.
Using it as a vehicle, including all money can buy, becomes a reflection of what it was.
A poor imitation of itself is bound to fade.
This was intended to be my personal and sincere review of the matter.
I am and always will be a huge Madonna Fan!
